Woods

Strolling through the dark lit woods,
passing by where you once stood.
Remembering your every inch,
has my throat closing to a pinch.
I remember still your last words,
as we saw those dazzling mockingbirds..
"these are the most beautiful things I've ever seen, but now that I am 18,
it's time for me to leave"
and with that you went away,
leaving me alone to grieve,
strolling through these dark lit woods,
passing by where you once stood

Star

I see you standing there from afar,
standing alone like a lonely star,
I want to approach you but I don't know how,
I wish to approach you right frikken now,
had I a rocket I'd blast off to you,
the dainty women that I once knew,
you are so different than you were before,
awkwardly shy and a giant bore,
you've grown to be so pretty,
with charm and retorts so witty,
and yet I'm still here staring at you from afar,
standing alone, my lonely star
